Choosing the Right Running Shoes for Your Runs

June 28, 2012 By admin

We believe running to be one of the best forms of cardiovascular exercise, yet only if done with the right equipment and done effectively. So since we already covered all the in’s and out’s in yesterdays post with some Beginner Running Tips, you should know how to run effectively on your treadmill. So now we need to make sure you have all the necessary equipment.

So first, make sure you have your NordicTrack treadmill! Got it?! If not go here to get some great deals on all of our latest treadmills!

Next make sure you have your water bottle in your built-in cup holder, or somewhere nearby. Make sure you stay hydrated before, after and during your run so you can be at your best to tackle on that workout.

Last but certainly not least, make sure you are wearing the right kind of shoes. Yes not all tennis shoes are made alike. There are certain types you should be wearing for treadmill and road runs, while there are others you should wear when running or hiking on off-road routes. If you are not wearing the proper shoes, this could lead to injury while running.

Here is a nice and dandy infographic we’ve found to help you find the right shoes for your runs. In this example, treadmill runs are going to be the same as road runs, the “surfaces with only slight irregularities”.

Continuous Horsepower (“CHP”) is a term used in the treadmill industry for consumer comparison purposes. The CHP rating is measured in laboratory testing using a dynamometer, which measures the mechanical power of the motor. The CHP rating does not denote the operational horsepower of the treadmill in ordinary household use. In ordinary household use, the motor does not operate at the horsepower shown.
